ABOUT ME
My name is Enas Ismail and I am a Counsellor and Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. I completed my first degree in Psychology from Richmond College, London in 1988. I then trained for a further 6 years to complete my therapy training at WPF - one of the leading training organisations for Counselling and psychotherapy. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Studies. I have since worked in an NHS setting at UCH (University College Hospital) and have been in private practice for 12 years.
My wish is to provide a safe space to enable people to talk about and make sense of their issues, so that they are able to find new ways of dealing with their feelings to help them manage their difficulties.
My approach is Psychodynamic which is an approach that stresses the importance of the Unconscious and past experiences in determining present behaviour. This approach is derived from Psychoanalysis but usually provides a quicker solution to emotional problems. Change happens when Unconscious patterns of behaviour become conscious through therapy.
